More than 330 students participated in the show organized by IbizaPreservation as part of the Balearic project Weaving the Future

Formentera, November 21, 2025 – Magic and sustainability have come together once again in Ibiza and Formentera, thanks to the children’s show ‘The Magic of Recycling’, organised by IbizaPreservation and the Ibiza Magic Association (AMIF), with the support of Depeche Mode and Hublot, through the global environmental network Conservation Collective.

This year the event was held for the first time in Formentera, specifically in the Sant Francesc Cultural Center, where – thanks to the collaboration of the Consell of Formentera – 184 students from the 5th and 6th grades of Mestre Lluís Andreu, El Pilar de la Mola and Sant Ferran de ses Roques primary schools participated this morning to “enjoy an educational and fun experience focused on the importance of caring for the environment,” according to the foundation, which took the opportunity to thank Trasmapi for facilitating the transfer of the team from Ibiza to Formentera.

Similarly, 150 schoolchildren from Balansat, Vara de Rey, Poeta Villangómez and Portal Nou primary schools in Ibiza participated on Thursday in the show held at the Can Jeroni Cultural Centre, thanks to the collaboration of the Sant Josep Town Hall.

During both performances, together with actress Júlia Marí, magicians Alexis and Dantés Junior guided their audience through games, tricks and visual effects to teach sustainable practices in an entertaining way, awakening in the youngsters the desire to become “the heroes and heroines that the planet needs”.

“We want the children of our islands to understand that protecting the environment is not a magic trick, but something we can all do every day,” explained Inma Saranova, director of IbizaPreservation, who also stressed that, “recycling is just one of the seven Rs we must apply: reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, rethink, refuse and collect are just as important as recycling.”

The initiative is part of “Weaving the Future: Alliance for the Preservation of the Balearic Islands,” a collaboration between IbizaPreservation, Mallorca Preservation, and Menorca Preservation, all member organisations of Conservation Collective. The joint project focuses on addressing plastic pollution in the archipelago through three lines of action: scientific research, promoting the circular economy, and raising public awareness.

‘The magic of recycling’ started in Mallorca last October and will conclude its journey in Menorca, thus consolidating the collaborative spirit of the project, which seeks to build a more sustainable future for the Balearic Islands as a whole.
