World Cleanup Day Formentera – 15th of September

On Saturday the 15th of September, millions of people in 150 countries will join forces to stand up for a clean and healthy planet.

The associations and organisations – Plastic Free Formentera, together with Qué Celeste would like to invite you to take part in the “World Cleanup Day” on the 15th of September. This is the biggest global civic action to date and will attempt to clean the world from all types of waste in a single day!

We encourage private and public institutions, local companies, NGO’s and the general public to join this movement and become aware of the global mismanaged waste problem. Together we will clean our beloved island!

  1. Watch the video: World Clean Up Day 2018, Do you believe it?
  2. Form a super Cleanup team with your colleagues, friends and family.
  3. Send the data to or whatsapp +34 +34 667 520873 indicating the name of the company, the number of people in your team and the area you prefer to clean.
  4. Together we will specify the exact place and time and we will provide all the necessary materials for cleaning.
  5. Share your photos and videos to tell the story of our islands to the whole world: Facebook Events – The World Cleanup Day Ibiza 15 September 2018 , hashtags: #WorldCleanUpDay #LetsDoItFormentera

Where: you can choose an area near to your business premises, a local beach, a forest or urban area, a country road, or the street where you live. You can also join a greater team with more volunteers and companies.

Time: we will start at 10am with the cleaning program until 8pm.

Map it!: we encourage you to download the special “World Clean Up app” on your phones.

(Available in Google play and the App store). When you see trash in Formentera, add it to the map, as indicated on the app. The goal is to “map” as many trash points as possible around the islands, so that they can be removed.

Why? we want to give visibility to the problem of poorly managed waste around the world.
