Our Studies
We commission and coordinate studies on important environmental issues that impact Ibiza and Formentera to gain a deeper understanding, spark debates and start the process for positive change.
Annual Report 2017
‘Ten Years of Preserving Ibiza and Formentera’ is the theme of the IPF’s 2017 Annual Report. In 2018 we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Ibiza Preservation Fund. This report looks back at the highlights and our many successes over the past 10 years. It includes a special feature on our cofounders – Serena Cook, William Aitken and Ben Goldsmith.
Annual Report 2016
Working Together to Preserve Ibiza and Formentera” is the theme of our 2016 Annual Report. The report covers four key areas – Sea, Land, Water and Energy. It includes information on the work we’ve done with local and international partners, highlights from the year, our supporters and how you can help us.
As well as being a good read, it’s also beautiful with stunning images kindly donated by local photographers Ana Lui, Manu San Félix and Jon Izeta.
Wastewater Treatment
The poor treatment of waste water in Ibiza and Formentera is highlighted in a graphic report prepared by GEN, under the project ‘The Sea, Our Shared Responsibility’, which IPF is proud to support.
Of the total water treated in 2015:
63% of the water analysed was of poor quality
less than 7% of the treated water was reused – the rest was dumped into the sea
The report (see below) includes information on the islands’ treatment facilities, water quality and maps of discharge points.
Within the framework of the Water Alliance we fully support the report’s recommendations.
