Land & Sea Projects
With 2018 marking the IPF’s 10th anniversary, as well as the celebrations, the occasion has been an opportunity for us to review the projects and initiatives we’ve supported in Ibiza and Formentera. We’ve also reflected on how we can better shift the islands onto a path to a more sustainable and prosperous future.
Over the past 10 years, we’ve supported more than 40 projects to preserve the islands’ natural beauty and natural resources. Going forward, we will focus on a smaller number of projects we believe will have the greatest impact on our environment and community and where we can make the biggest difference.
Between 2018 and 2021, we will focus on the following four key projects:
- IPF Ibiza Produce, a platform to strengthen the island’s food production capacity and reinvigorate the landscape.
- IPF Sustainability Study, an annual study of socio-environmental indicators to monitor trends and inform decision making to preserve our natural resources.
- Plastic Free Ibiza and Formentera, a movement with other NGOs to phase out single-use plastic by 2023.
- Posidonia Protection, to build on work to map meadows, develop an app and roll-out a children’s education programme.
