The environmental foundation raised around €40,000 through ticket sales, a raffle and donations at the event
Ibiza, 08-19-21 – The IbizaPreservation environmental foundation held a charity dinner at the Jondal restaurant, its first fundraising event in almost two years due to Covid-19.
Dinner under the stars by IbizaPreservation had about 150 attendees dining a menu of four fish and seafood courses under the moonlight at the exclusive beach bar of chef Rafa Zafra, which opened in 2020. Among the diners were the model Nieves Álvarez , the Madrid singer Pilar Jurado and the director of Forbes Spain and Tapas Magazine, Andrés Rodríguez.
The foundation raised around €40,000 through ticket sales, at €145 per person, in addition to a raffle with some thirty prizes donated by local companies and more than €12,000 from one-off online donations using a QR code. All the benefits of the night will go to the foundation’s work in protecting and regenerating the natural resources of the Pitiusan islands, through projects such as: Plastic Free Ibiza and Formentera, Ibiza Produce, the Sustainability Observatory and the protection of Posidonia.
“We warmly appreciate the generosity and commitment of all the guests who came to support us, as well as the collaboration of Jondal and all the sponsors of the event for making this magical night under the stars possible,” said Vanda Mustur, fundraiser of IbizaPreservation.
The dinner was inaugurated by the president of the foundation, Philip Muelder, who emphasized the impact that the organization has had since its inception in 2008 “with the dream of preserving the wealth and natural heritage of the islands.” He highlighted the two million euros raised by the foundation in the last 13 years to support and lead initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable future for Ibiza and Formentera.
The event had the collaboration of several sponsors, including the Marqués de Riscal, Ibizkus and Can Rich wineries, the Ibiza craft beer producer Ibosim and the water supplier Soul Water Ibiza. Raffle prizes included a dress by Ibizencan designer Charo Ruiz, dinner at Nobu Ibiza Bay’s BiBo restaurant, and a stay at the new Six Senses Ibiza luxury hotel.
