The President of the Consell of Ibiza, Vicent Marí, and the Councillor for Environmental Management, Vicente Roig, met the President of the environmental foundation and other members of the Board of Trustees

IBIZA, 30-05-2022 – The Consell of Ibiza hosted this Monday the first meeting between the island’s highest institution and IbizaPreservation, an encounter hosted by President Vicent Marí along with the Councillor for Environmental Management, Vicente Roig. Philip Muelder, President of IbizaPreservation, attended in representation of the foundation, along with board members Frances Llopis, Will Aitken and Liam Strong, as well as executive director, Inma Saranova and communication and fundraising managers, Kate Benyon-Tinker and Cristina Ramón.

At the meeting, IbizaPreservation expressed its intention to continue working for the conservation, preservation and regeneration of the natural environment of Ibiza and Formentera, having invested more than 2.7 million euros in the islands during its 14 years of operation. The foundation’s executive director, Inma Saranova, also stressed that “one of the characteristics of the foundation is its intention to form alliances that include all stakeholders to pursue common goals in environmental matters affecting the islands.”

For his part, the President of the Consell, Vicent Marí, praised the foundation’s many years of philanthropic work and its achievements related to the promotion of organic and KM0 produce, the study of environmental indicators, the reduction of single-use plastics, and the protection of Posidonia. Marí thanked the Trustees themselves for their contribution as well as the foundation’s other private and corporate donors.
