With the creation of the Fundación para la Conservación de Ibiza y Formentera we have given an important step towards the consolidation of our work in the Pitiusas.

Having worked since our creation (2008) under the umbrella of British Charity The Ecology Trust, this year 2015 we decided to create a new Spanish entity legally independent, of Balearic scope, to better root ourselves in these islands.

The mission of this new Foundation is the same as IPF’s: to preserve Ibiza and Formentera’s exceptional beauty and natural value, focusing in the conservation of countryside and marine areas.

The Foundation aims at combining its international spirit with the addition of local experts, building bridges between the international and local communities, and between NGOs, business organization and public entities.

The Foundation board is constituted by the following members: Philip Muelder, economist and of German nationality, Serena Cook, business woman and of British nationality and David Gamero, forest engineer and Spanish.

The new Foundation has also created an Advisory Council, integrated by specialists  in various environmental areas of interest to the Foundation, all of them residents in Ibiza: Arturo López, doctor in ecology and expert in marine resources,  Ronnie Andersen, journalist, farmer and specialist in local breeds, Vicent Palermet,  farmer and specialist in autoctonous seeds and expert in Ibizencan folklore, and  Betta Caraccia, anthropologist and specialist in environmental education.

The Foundation thanks deeply all of them for their volunteer dedication to environmental protection of Ibiza and Formentera.
