November 5, 2024 – Those interested in participating in the third family gymkhana organized by the IbizaPreservation environmental foundation still have time to register. This free and open to the public activity , which already has more than 90 registered teams , will be held on Sunday, November 10 in Talamanca, Ibiza, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Registrations will be open until November 8 at 10:00 a.m. and must be made through the sportmaniacs.com platform.
Environmental awareness
This inclusive activity, suitable for all ages, is designed as an orienteering race and invites participating teams to use a map to locate and answer 12 questions distributed along the route. This year, the races will have a theme focused on organic and regenerative agriculture. Each team can be made up of two or three people , always with the presence of at least one adult.
For the teams that achieve the best scores and times, there will be prizes in the form of baskets with local products, as well as raffles among those who complete the route, including a family excursion with Balearic Outdoor Adventures, a La Sirena gift card and two menus at Burger Meet Gin at Ocean Drive Ibiza.
The event has the collaboration of various local companies and entities such as La Sirena, OD Hotels, Eléctrica Marí, Trasmapi and Fundación Julián Vilás Ferrer. The funds raised will go to the ‘Eivissa Sembra Futur’ project, an initiative focused on supporting the island’s farms by planting native varieties of fruit trees that are resistant to climate change.
This project is part of the Ibiza Produce programme , with which IbizaPreservation contributes to strengthening the Ibizan agricultural sector and regenerating its soil and landscape, thus promoting local production and regenerative agriculture. The organisation and logistics are in the hands of Ibiza Blue Challenge, which facilitates the development of this event, reinforcing the island’s commitment to family leisure and sustainability.
