Ibiza, December 5, 2024 – IbizaPreservation, through its Ibiza Produce program, closes the year with the last session of its series of free workshops “Zero Waste – Local Product”, dedicated to promoting the use of zero-kilometer products. The event will take place on Saturday, December 14 , from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on an organic farm in Sant Carles de Peralta, and will focus on making fermented vegetables. The activity, organized by the Foundation with the support of Herbusa and its Zero Waste Ibiza initiative , is aimed at those who wish to learn how to reduce food waste while making the most of fresh seasonal products.
Towards a sustainable kitchen
Chef Erika Tangari will lead this session, where she will share her experience in the transformation and conservation of local foods. Participants will discover practical techniques to prolong the freshness of products, minimize waste and creatively use seasonal surpluses. “Our mission with these workshops is to give participants resources to take advantage of local seasonal products with creative recipes, enriching our dishes, as well as promoting the work of small farmers on the island.
Food waste is a major ethical, economic and environmental problem, so we can be creative and look for solutions”, says Jordi Salewski, coordinator of Ibiza Produce. To participate in this workshop, it is essential to reserve a place by sending an email to info@ibizaproduce.org . Registration is free and all necessary materials, including local products and glass jars, will be provided free of charge by the organizers.
