Ibiza, October 4, 2024 – IbizaPreservation, through its Ibiza Produce program, is promoting a new event in its series of free workshops “Zero Waste – Local Product”, focused on promoting zero-kilometer products. The event will take place on Saturday, October 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. , on an organic farming farm, located in Santa Gertrudis.
The activity, which has the support of Herbusa and its Zero Waste Ibiza project, is open to all interested parties and seeks to continue promoting culinary practices that contribute to reducing food waste and making the most of fresh seasonal products. On this occasion, attendees will learn how to cook different recipes to preserve pumpkin.
Sustainable cooking and conservation
Chef Erika Tangari will once again lead this session, sharing her experience and techniques for preserving and transforming local agricultural products. During the workshop, attendees will discover practical methods to extend the shelf life of food and minimise waste at home.
In addition, creative solutions will be discussed to make the most of surplus food. “Our mission with these workshops is for participants to not only learn recipes, but to understand the value of each ingredient and the positive impact they can generate by opting for local produce and reducing waste. Initiatives like this not only benefit the environment, but also strengthen the local economy,” says Jordi Salewski, coordinator of Ibiza Produce.
To participate in this workshop, it is essential to reserve a place by sending an email to info@ibizaproduce.org . Registration is free and all necessary materials, including local products and glass jars, will be provided free of charge by the organisers.
