The new workshop on using local spring produce, organized with the support of Herbusa through its Zero Food Waste program, is open to the public and will be held on Saturday, May 31, at an organic farm in Ibiza.

Ibiza, May 23, 2025 – Learning how to preserve food, reduce waste, and enjoy the flavor of local spring produce is possible thanks to a new workshop organized by the environmental foundation IbizaPreservation , in collaboration with Herbusa ‘s Zero Food Waste program .

The event will be held next Saturday, May 31 , from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. , at an organic farm in Ibiza.. This experience free and with limited places It is designed for anyone who wants to make the most of seasonal foods and contribute their part towards more sustainable cuisine. To participate, simply send an email to info@ibizaproduce.org. The exact location will be shared once the reservation is confirmed.

The workshop, guided by the chef Erika Tangari, will focus on the technique of pickled as a preservation method. In this way, attendees will learn how to extend the shelf life of fresh vegetables, preventing them from ending up in the trash, while also discovering how to enhance their flavors and add a creative touch to their dishes. As part of the activity, each participant will be able to take home their own jar of pickles made with local products. “The objective is twofold: promote conscious consumption of local products and reduce food waste, which represents an increasingly serious ethical, economic and environmental problem,” he explains. Jordi Salewski, program coordinator Ibiza Produce, promoted by IbizaPreservation to strengthen sustainable food production on the island.

For their part, Herbusa , the driving force behind the Zero Food Waste project, emphasizes that this initiative goes far beyond a simple recipe: “The main objective of this activity is to enter kitchens and work on developing strategies to reduce food waste so that, in addition to generating considerable economic savings, both social and environmental benefits are generated.”

This event is part of a series of initiatives aimed at empowering citizens with simple yet effective tools to transform, conserve, and appreciate what the Ibizan land offers us.
